Rules of the Death Mask Demons (my race) 1. Origin & Existence Alive State: In their alive state, they appear like forest spirits. They are extremely connected to the forest and plants. In this state, they usually have only white, black, or gray fur, no other fur color. In this state, they wear no mask and instead of claws, they have paws. Their wings are made of feathers, and their fur is silky soft. If the demons die of a natural cause, such as old age, they become plants, trees, and more. Dead State: Only after their death do they assume their "true" form as a Death Mask Demon. In this state, they always wear a mask. 2. Physical Characteristics Body Shape: They always appear in the form associated with their cause of death. Scars, injuries, or missing limbs from the moment of death remain visible in this form. Claws: Always black, symbolizing the darkness of death. Masks: Every Death Mask Demon wears a mask. The mask symbolizes the boundary between the "living" and the "dead." Without a mask, their true face reveals itself often grotesque, demonic, or distorted. Or in an extremely creepy state. Wings: They are made entirely of bone. However, they can still fly even if their wings are made of bone. Ears: They always have four ears. Tail: Always extremely long. 3. Abilities & Traits Mask Power: The mask serves as protection and a source of power. If the mask is destroyed, they completely lose control and kill everything in their way. Body, Appearance: No matter how they died, they always look different. No two demons look the same and no one has the same cause of death. Death Energy: Their magic is based on death, illusions, and fear. Each demon has a unique ability related to their manner of death (e.g., a drowned demon controls water, a hanged demon controls ropes/shadow threads, etc.). Connection to Others of Their Kind: If two or more demons of the same kind meet, they will never attack each other. However, if they encounter their living relatives, they may immediately go into attack mode. Age: In the dead state, age is no longer defined. They are virtually timeless. In the alive state, they can age.
